The Strange Cases of 7 Missing Titles

Here is another list put out by WWE, recapping seven titles from the past that are no longer being used. The titles on this list are so old that many of these younger wrestling fans wouldn’t remember them, there are two titles that I have never heard of, and I have been a wrestling fan for 27 years, so I don’t know why they are giving us this history lesson?

WWE Survivor Series Weekend

Hello wrestling fans, my WWE Survivor Series weekend started Friday morning at Madison Square Garden. I attempted to meet CM Punk. When I got there, the first 150 people were already there since about 3 a.m. I still stuck around to see CM Punk, try to win prizes, and get a chance to play the new WWE 12 video game. Well I didn’t get a chance to play the game, but I did win a Survivor Series T-shirt for answering a WWE trivia question on stage with Jimmy Hart. I also got to see CM Punk and hear the Q & A they had. Honestly the questions they picked weren’t even about wrestling and were ridiculous. I must admit, CM Punk doesn’t seem like a cool or approachable guy, but I didn’t meet him so I’m not really sure. I would like to congratulation him for winning the WWE Championship Title on Sunday.

Saturday began right across the street from MSG at Kmart. My brother and I went to meet Zack Ryder and the Bella Twins. Waiting on line, we all got to meet referee Charles Robinson aka "Little Naitch" in WCW with the Four Horsemen. It was fun waiting on line trying to figure out how to tell the difference between Brie and Nikki Bella but one thing we all knew was that they are even more gorgeous in person than on TV. This weekend, I became an official member of the Zack Pack. (Editors’ Note: You became one cause of me, WOO WOO WOO, YOU KNOW IT) The Long Island Iced Z is doing his thing and growing a huge fan base. Throughout the whole match between John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler, the whole arena kept yelling "WE WANT RYDER!!" Why hasn’t he gotten his U.S. title chance? Are you serious bro? Anyways, meeting Ryder and the Bella Twins was great and Ryder even had his Internet Championship right on the table. They were all nice and you could tell Ryder was having a blast being in his hometown, interacting with his fans.

Sunday morning we began with a trip to Garden City, NY's Roosevelt Field Mall to see The Miz and Eve Torres. One word, AWESOME!!! The Miz is a great guy, not only did he sign the photo I had, he even signed my belt. Eve is unbelievably gorgeous in person and super nice. With the exception of the "mall cops" thinking they're real cops, it was still a great signing. I would definitely go again.

The energy inside MSG before the show was incredible. Broski headbands were already sold out, but I managed to get one pair, once we got inside the arena. The atmosphere inside the arena is nothing like watching it at home. The NYC crowd just could not help show their NYC attitude by mostly rooting for the heels. A perfect example was when Sin Cara was on the floor with an injury; we can’t help but yell out "YOU FUCKED UP!!" It was awesome. The biggest boo's of the night were definitely John Cena, Mason Ryan, and shockingly John Morrison. The biggest pop of the night is a tie between The Rock and Zack Ryder. Second to them were CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, then other tough guys like Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Miz, Truth, etc. I must admit, I give Survivor Series a, 7 out of 10. I didn’t like that the U.S. title match didn’t turn into a triple threat match, giving Ryder his shot, and that Daniel Bryan didn’t cash in his Money in the Bank contract after the match between Big Show and Mark Henry. I hated the ending with Cena and Rock winning but it goes with the storyline, since the Awesome Truth split up last night on Raw. Overall, the show was awesome and I can’t wait to go back. This weekend was exhausting for me, but it was well worth it.

Super SmackDown

Super SmackDown aired on Tuesday night and it was a pretty good show. The Main event was a cage match between World Champion Randy Orton and Christian. This was an excellent match, because we had two veterans in the ring that know how to keep the audience on the edge of their seat. I am sick and tired of the way the WWE is treating Christian. He left the WWE and joined TNA in 2005. At this particular time TNA knew what they were doing, they made Christian a main event player and also a two time NWA World Champion, they even brought in Tomko as enforcer. Back to present time, the WWE is shitting all over this guy because he went elsewhere and made a name for himself, winning the title, dropping it the next night, begging for a title shot, and the most degrading thing of all time winning the World title by spitting in a man’s face. I mean really, if the WWE doesn’t want him as the World Champion, then keep him as a mid-card performer, why make him look like an ass. As you can tell Christian lost again, then Mark Henry hit the ring to take out the champion, which means that Christian is now out of the title hunt.

There were about five matches on the show. Yes, you are reading this correctly, five matches in a two hour show. There was a match that featured Kelly Kelly & Alicia Fox vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya which ended when Phoenix hit her finisher on Alicia Fox. John Cena took out Wade Barrett, after hitting Barrette with his array of moves, you know, his famous shoulder block, with his “you can’t see me” and then hits the attitude adjustment. Sin Cara defeated Daniel Bryan in a very good match; after the match was over Sin Cara turned on Bryan and left him laid-out in the ring. Sheamus took on The Great Khali; this match was advisedly made to display the awesome power Sheamus posses. Sheamus took out the biggest competitors in the WWE, which means the next man that will suffer the wrath of the Celtic Warrior will be Mark Henry. Henry has proven that he is a force to be wracking with, by slamming Sheamus on to a steel step. This will be interesting because Henry may defeat Orton at Night of Champions. Sheamus in opinion is the next man in line for the World title. The sad thing about the WWE titles is that the WWE itself is passing them around like a cheap bottle of Whiskey.

Monday Night Raw (August 29, 2011)

Monday night Raw started off with Triple H in the ring announcing that he is going to combine the two brands from now on. What does this mean to Raw & SmackDown, are we going to have one champion?

The fans have spoken again

Which of these Young WWE superstars, do you believe will be the greatest? That was the question I asked on our blog site about three month ago, you the fans voted for Sin Cara. He received 45% of the votes, which makes him the fans favorite to become the greatest superstar in the WWE. Sin Cara is a wrestler that has 13 years of experience in Japan and Mexico. He has held many titles all around the world, under the name Mistico. He was the biggest box office draw in Mexico, an equivalent to John Cena in the States. This guy is an already made wrestler, and the WWE has to change his name to Sin Cara, which mean “no face” when translated. I can’t help, but to think that by calling him “no face” dismisses all of his accomplishments which allows the WWE to take full credit for all and if any future achievements. Sin Cara was suspended for 30 day because he failed the WWE wellness policy. This was a major setback in my opinion; it will hurt him in the ring and backstage. I like this guy, but I have seen him in action and he makes tons of mistakes, which can be accounted for the language barrier or the inexperience of working in the States. Only time will tell if he can surpass the legacy of Rey Mysterio. I really believe he was brought in to WWE to replace Mysterio as the masked fan favorite.

Alex Riley came in second place with 33% of the votes. I really don’t like this guy right now. I see him as John Cena replacement. Riley gained popularity by turning on The Miz earlier this year has not lost any steam. His in ring performance need work in my opinion, but he will become a star.

Dolph Ziggler was in third place with 27% of the votes, and in my opinion he is a true star. He has the look and the ability to become a world champion.

Drew Mcintyre and Zack Ryder are tied in forth places with 17% of the votes. Ryder should be in a higher ranking in my opinion.

These are rest of the results:
Justin Gabriel 12%
Jinder Mahal 6%
Johnny Curtis 4%
Yoshi Tatsu 3%
Heath Slater 1%

My thoughts on Money in the Bank

Money in the Bank

Hello wrestling fans. I just wanted to post the results and of course my thoughts about each match. First off, I believe the whole CM Punk situation just had this vibe going around the arena. WWE Money in the Bank was probably the best WWE pay per view I've seen in a while. I say the best because most of the matches were good matches. Here are the results:

Daniel Bryan
The first match was SmackDown's Money in the Bank ladder match featuring Kane, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and Cody Rhodes. Everyone in this match was on top of their game. No one slacked off. This was a really good match, with each superstar with their own highlights. Sin Cara started cleaning house, until Sheamus powerbombed him onto a ladder on the outside. If you see closely, you can see the paint covered crack on the ladder right before it "breaks" when Sin Cara lands. He was brought to the back by the EMTs. So he'll be out of action for a while, hence his suspension. An awesome high spot was Sheamus and Kane doing the Doomsday Device on Bryan, paying homage to The Road Warriors since they were in Chicago that night. Just as Sheamus was about to grab the briefcase, he was chokeslammed by Kane onto another ladder. Rhodes, Bryan, and Barrett ganged up on Kane and ends with Gabriel delivering his 450 splash from on top of a ladder. Then Bryan gains the upper hand, by kicking Barrett off the ladder to grab the briefcase. Yes, it is true. Daniel Bryan (The American Dragon Bryan Danielson) is now the Money in the Bank winner with a contract for a World Championship title match at any time for one year.

Kelly Kelly defeated Brie Bella to retain her WWE Divas Championship.

Mark Henry defeated Big Show. Henry did a great job playing the heel, constantly beating on the injured leg of Big Show's. Henry is getting a big push to being a top heel for WWE SmackDown.

Alberto Del Rio
Raw's Money in the Bank ladder match was next, featuring The Miz, Alex Riley, Jack Swagger, R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston. It seems like these guys wanted to top SmackDown's ladder match, because this match had some awesome high spots. First Riley flips over the top rope onto Swagger and Miz, and then Truth flips over the top rope onto them. Finally Mysterio and Kingston were on opposite turnbuckles jump off, landing on top of the guys. Then Bourne delivers his finisher Airbourne from the ladder, landing on top of everyone. Bourne and Miz end up reaching for the briefcase, but Del Rio pushed the ladder from under them, causing Miz to land and hurt his right knee. There's a point in the match where there are four ladders in the ring and all seven superstars are all on top reaching for that briefcase. Each man falls off one by one, when out of nowhere, The Miz returns hopping on one leg but is cut short by Mysterio. The fans at the arena were not pleased by that, booing Mysterio for stopping Miz and almost grabbing the briefcase. Mysterio and Del Rio go back and forth for the briefcase, on top of the ladders, but Del Rio unmasks Mysterio and causes all the ladders to fall. Del Rio quickly puts the ladder back in place and grabs the briefcase. He's officially Raw's Money in the Bank ladder match winner. But of course, you already knew that.

Christian
For those who follow The Wrestling Fans Review blogs site, know that I'm a Christian fan. I must say, I am not happy with how he became World Champion. A stipulation in the match was that if Randy Orton was disqualified, he would lose his World Championship title. Christian ends up spitting on Orton's face, making Orton so angry that he kicks Christian below the belt and loses the match and his title. He then gives Christian the RKO on top of the Spanish announcers table, and then follows up with another RKO. To be honest, it seemed that they were trying to break the table but couldn’t. I don’t like this ending because Christian's debate was "I can beat you Randy!" and winning the title by disqualification doesn’t prove that he can. I feel like it doesn’t make Christian look good at all. It was a cheap way to win.

CM Punk
Finally we get to the main event of the night and from the moment CM Punk's music started, the fans went wild. The match started out slow with John Cena shadow boxing and surprisingly chain wrestling with Punk. I don’t think anyone was sitting down this whole match. It was very suspenseful, keeping everyone on their feet. Cena had the upper hand for the most part, but Punk did not want to stay down. They're later joined by Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. McMahon signals for the time keeper to ring the bell. Just as Laurinaitis starts running down to the bell, Cena clotheslines him and tells McMahon that he didn’t want to win that way. He goes back into the ring and Punk catches him with the GTS and gets the 1, 2, 3. I was completely shocked. I believed Cena was going to win, not get fired of course, and Punk would leave like he said he would. Vince then calls for Alberto Del Rio to cash in his contract but gets kicked by Punk before the match ever started. So CM Punk is now the WWE Champion and he jumped over the railing, on to the fans and left the WWE with the prestigious yet ugly looking WWE Championship.

On that note, it was a good pay per view event with a few surprises and good matches. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for WWE now that there's no WWE Champion and Vince McMahon being fired. We shall see next week on Monday Night Raw.

Alex Riley

I am conducting a survey, on which young wrestler do you believe has the potential to become a great WWE Superstar. The wrestlers are Dolph Ziggler, Heath Slater, Drew Mcintyre, Johnny Curtis, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder, Sin Cara, Yoshi Tatsu, Jinder Mahal, and Alex Riley. For those who don’t know these wrestlers, I will be posting small bios on them.If you have a name to add to this list leave us a comment.

Alex Riley is the rookie sensation that ran wild in the WWE official developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling. He won the FCW Tag Team championship with his partner Scotty Goldman (Colt Cabana). Alex won the FCW Championship by defeating three men, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett. Alex Riley made his WWE debuted on NXT, his mentor was The Miz. He didn’t win NXT, but The Miz signed him to a ‘personal service contract’, which allows Alex to accompany him to the ring. We just recently saw Alex break away from his mentor and they will meet at Capital Punishment. I like this guy, and he may indeed be a star in the making. I really don’t see how having these two young stars feud benefit either one of them, but the WWE has a master plan, hopefully The Miz or Alex Riley is a part of that plan.

Christian should bring back "Captain Charisma"

Chritian
I just wanted to talk a little about last Friday Night SmackDown. It was actually a pretty good show. The WWE still needs a big heel to go against the main baby face, Randy Orton. With that being said, I truly believe and I'm wishing that Christian brings back his "Captain Charisma" character and become SmackDown main heel. I was praying that Christian would turn his back on Orton at the end of their tag team match against Mark Henry and Sheamus. I was disappointed that he didn’t. I was also really disappointed that Christian lost the title after his victory at Extreme Rules. For some reason Orton is a big deal. Christian has worked his ass off to get where he got and they decide to let Orton carry the title. That's just ridiculous. I believe it's Christian's time. Yes I am a “Peeps”.

Sin Cara

On the other hand, I think the match between Sin Cara and Daniel Bryan was the best match of the night. Even though his finisher is a rip-off of The S.A.T's (Spanish Announce Team) "Spanish Fly", everyone seems to love it but any wrestling fan who follows the Indy scene would know that. The match was still awesome with Bryan showing some more intensity, playing the "heel" in the match and making Sin Cara look good. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase had a good match as well. I like the "Dashing Cody Rhodes" persona better, but I'm digging his "Deformed Cody Rhodes" character. I think it's hilarious.

The Corre

The Corre was better when they were Nexus, but keeping The Corre as a trio with Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater makes more sense to me and it just looks better. Ezekiel Jackson being part of The Corre kind of made no sense. So like I mentioned earlier, SmackDown needs a top heel. Sheamus and Mark Henry are good heels, but as "top heel," I don’t think they can draw money like Randy Orton vs. Christian. So please Christian, bring back “Captain Charisma” and throw Orton off his high horse.

SmackDown results

-Trevor Murdoch wrestled a dark match during the SmackDown taping. Sin Cara defeated Daniel Bryan, Kane Defeated Wade Barrett, and Randy Orton & Christian defeated Sheamus & Mark Henry.
-Shane ‘Gregory’ Helms is recovering in a hospital after a motorcycle accident.
-I read rumors of Batista and Chris Jericho coming back to WWE. I totally understand why WWE is bringing them back. They need wrestling superstars of their caliber to put over the young stars; this will give creditability to WWE roster.  In my opinion Chris is a great heel, I enjoy all of his matches and I really think he can make the WWE Heavyweight Championship look good.

The Draft picks for Raw

Draft picks for Monday Night Raw: Rey Mysterio, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio and John Cena?
So they replace the new young up-in-comer luchador Sin Cara, with the legend luchador Rey Mysterio. A lot of people underestimate Rey Mysterio, but you have to understand that he's a legend when it comes to Mexican Lucha Libre and especially the high flying style we see today. We have to admit that Mysterio is older and cannot do those same high flying moves he used to do back in the 90's, in ECW and WCW. Sin Cara has some big shoes to fill right now, but Rey Mysterio on Raw is cool with me.
I gained a lot of respect for the Big Show. He is definitely the best "Big man" wrestler in the business and the most athletic. Like Rey Mysterio, he's so over with the fans that belts and titles, don’t really matter. You can’t go wrong with Big Show
His name is Alberto Del Rio, but of course you already knew that. I'm excited to see the future of the WWE, on Monday Night Raw. His charisma is great and his in-ring ability is good as well. He definitely has what it takes to be a top heel in the business. Del Rio on Raw will only strengthen his career.
John Cena on Raw? Wait... WHAT? WHY? Why would he be drafted twice? What was the whole point of that? That was a big "F U" to the Raw fans who wanted him gone and to the SmackDown fans who wanted to see him on Friday nights. It was just unnecessary, to tease everyone like that.
Well, those were my thoughts on the 2011 WWE Draft. I just hope WWE knows what they're doing. I would love to read your thoughts on the draft picks.

The Draft picks for SmackDown

I have a lot on my mind, about the WWE Draft picks, last night on Monday Night Raw. I just want to add, that whenever I have the chance to watch SmackDown, I watch it, but hands down I'm a Raw fan.
Draft picks for Friday Night SmackDown: John Cena, Randy Orton, Mark Henry and Sin Cara.
I personally believe John Cena is the new Hulk Hogan. Instead of "say your prayers" and "taking your vitamins," it's "Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect." The biggest difference is that Hulk Hogan can appeal to fans of all ages and genders and John Cena, of course does not. John Cena's charisma is great but he was better when he was a heel. With that being said, I'm happy he gets drafted into SmackDown where I don’t have to see much of him.
I believe Randy Orton is the new Stone Cold Steve Austin. Instead of "The Rattlesnake" it’s "The Viper." The RKO is a modified Stone Cold Stunner. I can’t deny that he's a good in-ring performer but I just can’t buy into him being a top guy. So I'm extremely happy he's heading to SmackDown.
Mark Henry will always be Mark Henry. I still cannot see him as a top guy. I'm sorry but I can’t. Maybe turning him heel on SmackDown will bring out some charisma.
I'm really disappointed that Sin Cara was drafted into SmackDown. I was excited to see him perform on Raw. My only problem is that he has made a couple of mistakes in his first match against Primo. Maybe they needed him on SmackDown so they'll be able to edit his matches to make him look good and give him the push that they want for him.
